All training kits contain a variety of simulated explosives, detonators, operating mechanisms, illegal drugs, replica IEDs and other Ttreats and are stored in a protective briefcase for easy transportation and storage.
When training security personnel to perform manual search and to operate screening equipment, the most realistic simulants/devices available must be used – simulants/devices that appear identical to (appearance, colour) and tactilely feel (texture, malleability, density) like real threat/prohibited items. IED kits contain the four main components of IEDs – inert explosives (simulants), detonator, operating system and battery.
