The Simulant Concealed Devices Training Kit contains a number of inert replica concealed IEDs that can be used as part of threat detection training or for on the job covert testing.
Concealed DVD Case
An empty DVD case concealed with simulated plastic explosives and detonated by an inert aluminium detonator. The mechanism for this concealed IED is a light sensitive cell that activates the electrical circuit when the DVD case is opened. A buzzer will sound to indicate operation.
The flashlight is fitted with two dummy batteries; one containing simulated explosives, the other containing a power supply, circuitry and inert detonator. Once the timer is set, a buzzer will sound after 1 minute to indicate detonation.
Soft Drinks Can
The simulated explosive is placed within the can while the timer, power source and detonator are all fitted to the underside of the top cap. Once the timer is set, a buzzer sounds after 1 minute to indicate detonation.
The simulated datasheet is placed underneath the folder’s paper pad and detonated by an inert electric aluminium detonator. The replica IED is operated by a timer that will emit a buzzer sound upon detonation.
The simulated IED is placed within the hair dryer and is detonated by clicking the on switch.
The main simulated explosive device is fitted inside the main body of the shaver. The user needs to flick a switch to start the timer, after which a buzzer will sound to indicate detonation.
Soft Drinks Container / Thermos
Simulated liquid explosive is placed inside a plastic bag, which, in turn, is placed inside the thermos. An inert modular initiator is then placed inside the container. The user needs to flick a switch to start the timer, after which a buzzer will sound to indicate detonation.
